Costa Mesa Wedding: Yobana + Mario - Costa Mesa, CA (10/12/19)
Everything about Yobana and Mario’s wedding hit me in the feels you guys! Do you ever see a couple together and you can just feel their love for each other radiating around them? Well Yobana and Mario are one of those couples. They have such a strong respect and adoration for each other and I was so lucky to be there to document the next step in their love story at Halecrest Club in Costa Mesa on October 12th, 2019.
The day started out a little stressful for Yobana. A few hours before I was scheduled to arrive, she called to inform me that her hair and makeup artist wasn’t responding to her calls and messages so she was going to have to move forward with getting ready with help from her family and friends. Regardless of the situation, she was still in good spirits and still looked absolutely beautiful.
The couple decided to have no Bridal Party for their wedding and instead gave the spotlight to their Husky, Bolt. This little guy stole my heart from the minute I walked into Mario’s hotel room to photograph him getting ready. Bolt was by his dad’s side the whole time while he got ready and kept guard at his feet when he was putting his shoes on. He’s such a good boy!

The initial plan was for Yobana to have a first look with her dad at the venue but he accidently almost got left at the hotel so he ended up seeing her before we scheduled since he had to catch a ride along with her. Thankfully, she still had time to give him his personalized gift in front of our cameras before they walked down the aisle together.
Mario was accompanied down the aisle by Yobana’s mom and the oh so adorable Bolt, who was sporting some fresh greenery around his neck. One by one, the three Flower Girls made their entrance towards the altar giving Mario time to turn his back so he could be surprised by his Bride as she made her way towards him. They each wrote personal vows to share and Yobana’s for Mario had everyone laughing with promises that were cute “inside jokes” between them.

After the ceremony, we had almost a full hour dedicated to the couple’s formal portraits so we traveled to Canyon Park a few miles away after we got a few shots at their decorated altar. The golden hour glow behind us at Canyon Park was perfection for this photogenic pair. I would have sworn these two were models posing for a styled shoot because they knew exactly what to do with some help from my prompts and direction. They just soaked in the moment and let me help them create some gorgeous photos.

The reception was hosted at the same location as their ceremony but within the indoor space. Guests were welcomed in the hall’s entrance by a champagne wall which is owned by Yobana’s own rental company, Rentals by Bana, and I highly recommend one of these for my future couples! To add to the fun, the photobooth set up outside made for cute memories for guests to take home with them along with their mini potted succulents sent with love from the newlyweds.
The dance floor was the place to be for the night. This is where everyone got to really show their love for the happy couple. In between the “dollar dance,” the bouquet and garter toss, and cake cutting, Yobana and Mario got to enjoy their new title as Husband and Wife while singing and dancing with their favorite people. That love I could feel radiating off them only glowed brighter with their loved ones by their sides.

I can’t thank Yobana and Mario enough for trusting us to give them memories they can forever cherish. Congratulations again you two!
