Engagement Session: Daisy + Julio | Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park (06.22.19)
Engagement Session | Daisy and Julio
Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park and Sycamore Highlands Park - Riverside, CA
June 22, 2019
Daisy and Julio first got in contact with me inquiring to book my husband Toby and I to document their wedding. And I am so glad that they chose to move forward with us for their important day in April 2020. The two met in college and have such a gentle love for each other. It was the way they engaged with each other that made this session come out a success at Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park in Riverside, CA.
I have been looking into this location for a few months now and after researching the four openings of the 1,500 acre preserve, I finally found the sweet spot. This particular area is tucked away at the top of Sycamore Highlands Park’s walk loop and is well known to locals for one of the best sunset views in Riverside. We didn’t travel much into the canyon as there is a high warning for rattlesnakes on the narrower trails but regardless, the view was perfect even just a few 100 feet in.
I am sad to have to share however that the exact part of the canyon we used for the majority of the session caught fire shortly after this day and is no longer golden and full but instead black and charred. Unfortunately, wild fires come with the territory of the Inland Empire so I’m glad I was able to capture these beautiful images while it lasted. Hopefully we get more rain again this Fall and Winter and the area can start to regrow.
